Earlier this month, Chinook Kendo Dojo’s Head Instructor, Kyle Lee Sensei, visited Budokuden Kendo Dojo in Irvine, California, for a special training session with world-renowned instructor Taro Ariga Sensei (Kyoshi 8th Dan).

Ariga Sensei is a long-standing mentor and senpai to Lee Sensei, with their history spanning the University of Waterloo Kendo Club and representing Canada on the national team.

Reflecting on the practice, Lee Sensei shared:

"Even after practicing Kendo for over 30 years, stepping into keiko with Ariga Sensei reminds me how vast this martial art is. It was a profound honor to learn from him once again. In the world of Kendo, learning never stops—there is always room to grow, refine your mind, and polish your technique."
